Retaking the bow

A retake is made when two down-bow strokes are made one after another. This exercise will help you stay in control of the bow when you lift it away from the string and land it back down again to start the new bow-stroke, as described in the ‘controlling the bow for retakes’ exercise on page 49 of Violinworks Book 1.
